Recorder Club for Y2 – Tuesday lunchtime

We have a new group of recorder players from Y2, who come every Tuesday lunchtime to Recorder Club.

They are very enthusiastic and we have already started to play two tunes!

It’s great fun – we have about 30 children in the group and we hope they will keep coming all year.

Choir for Y2 – Friday lunchtime

The choir meets every Friday lunchtime at 12.15pm.  There are currently around 30 children who attend each week to learn new songs.

We are looking forward to another fantastic year with love story of opportunities to share our singing in the local community.

If you get a chance to come and listen to us, we would love to see you.

Board games club for Year 1 - Wednesday lunchtime.

Each Wednesday lunchtime a group of Year 1 children meet with Mrs Sawyers and Mrs Newsham and enjoy playing different board games. The children are all very sensible and take turns to ensure games are played fairly. They listen carefully to each other and help each other when needed.

If you have any unwanted board games at home, suitable for 4 - 7 year olds we would happily accept them, thank you.

Colouring Club for Year 1 and Year 2 - Tuesday lunchtime.

Year 5 children have designed some colouring sheets for children in Year 1 and Year 2 to use during colouring club on a Tuesday lunchtime. The Year 5 children also support the children in completing their colouring by reminding them how to keep in the lines and use small movements. The group are working well together and in the coming weeks the children in colouring club will take part in a 'special task' (Designing a Christmas stamp for Royal Mail.)

Reading Club for Year 1 and Year 2 - Monday lunchtime.

We have been having a wonderful time in reading club on a Monday lunchtime; listening to favourite stories, reading home reading books and sharing books from home. Sometimes some Year 5 children visit us to read with us and we really like this. Here are some photographs taken in the last few weeks. If you haven't been able to join reading club this time, don't give up, keep reading and maybe after half term you can join us.

Maths club for Year 1 and Year 2 - Thursday lunchtime.

In maths club we have been playing games to practice our times tables, doubles and halves. We have also been trying to develop problem solving skills. Some times some children from Year 5 join us to help us solve tricky calculations or problems. It fun when they join us and we like it!
