Welcome to Class 8!
Teacher: Miss Levitt
Teaching Assistants: Mrs Easter and Mrs Long
Your child will be given books and a reading diary to bring home and read. The books will be changed on a weekly basis but are not changed on a set day so please ensure your child has them at school every day. An adult will hear your child read then they will make a decision as to whether their book needs changing or not. The most important homework your child can do is to read every night. Please write in your child’s reading record when you have heard them read and how they did. As well as hearing them read the text, asking questions about it would be very helpful too. We are always grateful for any volunteers who can spend time in school listening to children read!
Homework and Spellings
Children will be set homework on a weekly basis. It will be sent home on a Friday to be handed in the following Wednesday. Spellings will be sent home each week on a Monday and the children will practice these on a Friday in their Phonics sessions. Thank you for supporting your child at home.
We do PE once a week. Long hair needs to be tied back and any earrings either have to be removed or covered over. Please check items are clearly labelled.
We have enjoyed learning about Minibeasts and hunting for bugs around school! We are now starting a new topic- Space!
This term we will be looking at "Toys". We have already talked about our favourite toys and the different toys we were lucky enough to get from Father Christmas! In the upcoming weeks we will be investigating materials used to make different toys as well as observational drawings.
